Board of Supervisors approves key personnel decisions; new online academic programs announced

The Southern University System Board of Supervisors today held committee meetings and full board meeting on Feb. 21-22 at Southern University Shreveport. In one of its first actions, the Board approved the extension of the contract of Dawson Odums, head football coach at Southern University Baton Rouge.

The Southern University System Board of Supervisors today convened for its first meeting of the new year at Southern University Baton Rouge. Atty. Domoine D. Rutledge and the Rev. Samuel C. Tolbert Jr. were installed as the new chair and vice chair, respectively.

The Southern University Alumni Federation will hold its biennial conference July 19-22 in Baton Rouge. The Federation, which includes thousands of members across the nation and abroad, is hosting several events that celebrate tradition, innovation and achievement.

The Southern University System Board of Trustees today met for its February meeting on the Baton Rouge campus. Members approved President-Chancellor Ray L. Belton’s hiring of Kimberly Ferguson-Scott as the vice chancellor for student affairs and the extension of Roman Banks’ contract for athletic director. Both are positions are for the Baton Rouge campus.
