As we prepare for an exciting new academic year, we want to keep our Southern University families informed every step of the way. The Office of Community Outreach and Parental Engagement, in collaboration with Residential Life, is sharing an important update regarding on-campus housing for the upcoming Fall 2025 semester.

On-Campus Housing Is Now at Capacity

Due to high demand, on-campus housing for the Fall 2025 semester is officially full. We understand how important housing is to both students and their families, and we know this news may come with questions or concerns.

Here’s what we want you to know:

• Students who have already secured their housing assignments are confirmed and do not need to take further action.
• Those who have not secured on-campus housing are encouraged to explore off-campus housing options as soon as possible.
• The Office of Residential Life is working closely with students on the waitlist to offer support and guidance.

What Families Can Do

If your student is affected by this housing update, here are a few steps you can take together:

1. Check Waitlist Status – Students should monitor their student email for updates from the Office of Residential Life regarding any changes to their waitlist position.
2. Explore Off-Campus Resources – Our housing team has compiled a list of trusted off-campus housing options and tips to support your student’s search. See the flyer below with options.
3. Stay Connected – Through the SU Parent Portal, we will continue to provide updates and helpful information throughout the summer.
