Southern Alum Selected as Quarterfinalist for National Award

Southern Alumnus (BM, 2007) and Belaire High School Band Director Juvon Pollard has been selected as a quarterfinalist for the 2020 GRAMMY Museum's Music Educator award.

Pollard was selected from a pool of over 3,000 nominations. He is one of only 189 quarterfinalists.

According to the GRAMMY website, the award "honors teachers who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools."
