How To Access The Internet

FACULTY AND STAFF:

Computers that are purchased by departments for the University become property of the University. Every University computer MUST BE connected to the SUBR Domain. Every end user MUST log into the computer using their SUNet account. If a University computer is not in compliance, it will be disconnected from the campus network infrastructure and lose Internet, mainframe and Banner access.

RESIDENTIAL AND WIRELESS USERS:

To access the internet on-campus students will need to use the Clean Access System. The Clean Access system is a user vulnerability assessment and remediation system. This system will require each student's computer to meet minimum requirements: the latest version of the Clean Access Agent, up-to-date antivirus software and ALL windows updates. All computers compliant will be allowed access to the network.

Students are responsible for maintenance, repair, and service of their computers. Students are responsible for the purchase and installations of software on their computers. Southern University staff does not work on student computers nor install software.
