Library Policy on Electronic Devices

Overdue laptop fines accrue at a rate of $5 per hour to a maximum of $50.00 for laptops and $20.00 for each peripheral. 

Additionally, the borrower will be fined the replacement cost (up to $1,800) for any items that are lost, stolen or damaged. 

RESPONSIBILITY FOR EQUIPMENT: 

• Students are financially responsible for any and all equipment checked out, including the full replacement costs, and any of its accessories that are lost, stolen, or damaged. 

• Replacement costs: 

• iPads: $500 

• Laptop: $1,000 - $1,800 (based on market value) 

• Carrying case: $25 

• Hotspots: $50 

• webcams $38 

 Overdue charges will be added to any replacement costs incurred. 

Fees for an overdue, stolen, or lost laptop will be billed to the user responsible. Failure to pay these fines will result in a hold on the user’s BANNER account. 

 Note that a police report will be filed for lost equipment.
