Biography

Sarah received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Mississippi State University under Steinway Artist Dr. Rosângela Sebba where she received multiple awards and performed as a soloist with the Starkville Symphony Orchestra. She received her master’s degree in Piano Pedagogy from LSU under Dr. Pamela Pike, Dr. Willis Delony, and Professor Gregory Sioles. While at LSU, she presented research at MTNA's 2019 Conference and was the two-time winner of LTMA's Collegiate Poster Session Competition. Sarah’s articles on works by female composers and effective group teaching have been published in the American Music Teacher e-Journal and Piano Magazine.

 

In addition to being a faculty member at Southern University, Sarah is a member of The Society of Pi Kappa Lambda, the Advertising Coordinator for Piano Magazine, Exhibitor Support for NCKP 2021: The Piano Conference, the choir director and pianist at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, and the owner of a private piano studio. As an active member of the local music community, she is a regular judge for festivals and is the Advertising Chair for the Louisiana Music Teachers Association.
