There are few better ways to leave your mark than with an old fashion time capsule and, for Southern University, it is one of ways the school is commemorating its Centennial year during the final week of homecoming activities.

The Southern University Museum of Art, (SUMA) will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Southern University with its exhibit, Southern Art: Reflections of History, Culture, and Lifestyle, featuring the works of Master Artist Don Cincone from Monroe, La.; Houston, Texas artist, Ted Ellis; and Monroe, La., artist Daryl Tripplett.

Baton Rouge Community College students are now able to seamlessly transfer to Southern University thanks to the new "Bears 2 Jaguars" academic partnership that was signed Thursday.

Miss Southern University 2011-2012 Chisolu Paula Isiadinso was elected Vice-President of the Community Association of Underprivileged Students (CAUPS) Board of Trustees. CAUPS is designed to assist third-eighth graders with learning disabilities.

Southern University students got a rallying cry from civil rights activist, the Rev. Al Sharpton, encouraging them to speak out against injustice and to become a strong voting block for change.
