The Office of Career Services assist students and graduates in identifying their individual capabilities, interests, skills, and acquired knowledge for meaningful vocational opportunities beginning with their freshman year. Also, the office provides students, beginning at the sophomore year, with opportunities for internships, cooperative education jobs, summer employment and full-time employment. Students can also earn 3.0 hours credit while working full-time on co-op and intern assignments.
Course Offerings
CO-OP 200 - 3.0 credit hours.
Students working full-time on co-op/intern assignments, first tour.
CO-OP 300 - 3.0 credit hours.
Students working full-time on co-op/intern assignments, second tour.
CO-OP 201 - 3.0 credit hours.
An investigation of careers, the world of work, and the career planning process. Emphasis is placed upon assisting the student clarify and formulate realistic career goals and an appropriate career plan and strategy to achieve those goals. Interpersonal communication as related to career/professional development. Emphasis is placed on job-seeking activities (interview tips, resume writing, constructing letters of application). Open to all majors, highly recommended for business, computer science, engineering and liberal arts majors.
