Jaguar Portal

The intent for the establishment of this Jaguar Portal is to lead to a vast increase of the participation of Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge (SUBR), Louisiana, students in summer internships, state and national scholarship and fellowship programs, and the professional and career development enterprise.  More than 50 dedicated Alumni, who are assisting SUBR with recruitment and retention, are the ones who requested the establishment of this portal. Two SUBR alumni, Mr. Stanley White (Engineering Specialist at Airbus Americas Engineering) and Dr.  Loretta H. Cheeks (Founder and CEO, Strong TIES), coordinated our efforts for the establishment of the portal. Ms. Lashounda Franklin and Ms. Rachel Carriere, respectively handled the initial compilation of opportunities and the creation of the Web page. We expect the scholars of the Dolores Margaret Richard Spikes (D. M. R. S.) Honors College, for whom research participation is mandatory, to lead in the extensive utilization of internships, scholarships, fellowships, and professional development opportunities at this portal.  The same is true for scholars of the Timbuktu Academy (www.subr.edu/TimbuktuAcademy) and of the Louis Stokes Louisiana Alliance for Minority Participation (LS-LAMP) (www.subr.edu/lslamp).
