Son urges mom to get a degree; they graduate Friday

Southern University’s Dr. Rao M Uppu, a professor and Director of the Environmental Toxicology Ph.D. program at Southern University, has recently been elected as a "Fellow" of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences (ATS).
"Jaguars Go Hard" music video by SU's Justin Patterson

Justin Patterson, mass communications major from New Orleans, has launched a video, “Jaguars Go Hard,” dedicated to the 2013 Jaguar football team. Patterson, also known as “J-Spitta,” performed and wrote the lyrics. Shelton Scales Jr., “JScalez,” a junior, mechanical engineering major, produced the song and SU alum Kendal Odum edited the video. “Jaguars Go Hard’’ also features the SU cheerleaders, Gold-N-Bluez dancers and the Woop Woop Boys.
Jonas Vanderbilt, coordinator of Students Programs and Greek Life, choreographed the video.
