Three Southern Music Students Place in Vocal Competition

Three Southern University A&M Music Students placed in the Spring 2019 National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Southern Regional Vocal Competitions. The multi-state competition was held on March 16, 2019 at Southeastern University in Hammond, LA. Southern University was well represented with eight students competing.

Alana Singleton took First Prize and La'Heaven James won Second in the Hal Johnson Spiritual Category. Both students study voice under Professor Jacqueline Paige-Green. Nicholas Lockett won first prize in the Older Advanced Men's Voice Category. Mr. Lockett hails from the studio of Professor Richard Hobson.
