SU BAYOU (Beginning Agricultural Youth Opportunities Unlimited)
June 1-7
The goal of the SU BAYOU Summer Program, established 1987, is to introduce students to the majors available in the Southern University College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences and the various career opportunities in the field of agriculture. BAYOU is a cost-free program that allows students from different backgrounds the ability to experience agriculture on the college level to encourage them to take the next steps in their educational career and expose them to living on campus.

An exciting four-week summer program designed to engage middle and high school students in the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Students will explore a variety of hands-on STEM activities, enhancing their math and writing skills while learning about the many ways these subjects come to life in real-world scenarios.

Summer 2025 Summer Camp (STEMX 11-12)
June 2-13
An immersive two-week experience for rising junior and senior high school students passionate about exploring all areas of STEM. This focused program allows students to dive deep into their individual interests while participating in hands-on projects and learning experiences across various STEM fields. With the guidance of university faculty and industry experts, students will explore engineering, computer science, environmental science, robotics, and much more.

SUMMER 2025 Mathematics Boot Camp at the Timbuktu Academy (SMBC-TA)

June 2-27
This four-week program entails a myriad of enriched activities designed to cultivate participant awareness and understanding of quantum mechanics and computing for real-world applications. Selected students will focus on math and science competencies essential for college matriculation in quantum information sciences and engineering (QISE) fields. Based on our previous experiences, the six core math and science competencies that will be addressed are (1) algebraic and geometric reasoning, (2) calculus, probability, and statistics, (3) problem-solving and critical thinking, (4) experimental design and data interpretation, (5) scientific communication and technology integration, and (6) interdisciplinary connections.

FreshStart NAVY Summer Program
June 1 – July 12
The program prepares newly admitted students at Southern University (SU) for a successful transition into college life. It provides foundational support in key subject areas — including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, programming, and essential academic skills — to ensure a strong start in their first semester. Supported by the U.S. Navy, the program will serve an initial cohort of 10 students.

Speech-Language Pathology Literacy and Language Camp
June 11 - July 24
The Southern University Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic offers a seven-week program for children ages 3-10 to improve communication skills. Graduate student clinicians, supervised by certified speech-language pathologists, lead the camp. (A.) Ages 3-6: Focus on early literacy through storybook reading, phonemic awareness, songs, and language-based crafts. (B.) Ages 7-10: Emphasis on phonological awareness, literacy development, reading comprehension, and advanced concepts using interactive stories.

Human Jukebox Band and Dance Camp

Welcome to the most fun-filled summer band and dance Team camp in the United States! This year, we will continue our tradition of excellence by providing exciting activities that will benefit campers and band directors. The camp will allow high school students to interact with students nationwide and be a part of the best marching band program in the nation.

Roots and Rhythms Community Camp: Honoring Roots, Celebrating Rhythms, and Building Futures

Join us for Roots and Rhythms Community Camp, a joyful and immersive week where young people (ages 9-13) explore the power of culture, creativity, and community! Through dance, drumming, art, and storytelling, campers will connect with rich cultural histories and express themselves through movement. Grounded in rhythm and rooted in tradition, this camp celebrates heritage in a way that is playful, empowering, and inclusive. No experience necessary — just bring your energy and curiosity!
