Southern University at New Orleans Chancellor Dr. Victor Ukpolo presented SUBR Chancellor Dr. James L. Llorens a plaque to recognize the Baton Rouge campus' assistance in housing SUNO students during Hurricane Isaac.

Dr. Sandra Chaisson Brown, a professor in Southern University’s School of Nursing, was recently awarded “Fellow” status by the National League for Nursing’s Academy of Nursing Education. She joins the academy’s elite group of fellows representing nursing schools and programs across the United States.
