Social Work Admissions Requirements
Admission Requirements
The Department of Social Work strives to promote excellence in social work education. Students who declare social work as a major are permitted to enroll in social work 198, 200, 210, 298 and any 200 level social work electives. These students are in the Pre_Admission Classification status. Students in this classification have not been admitted into the Department of Social Work
In order to take upper level (above 200 level) required social work courses students have to be admitted into the Department of Social Work. To apply for admission the student must meet the following criteria:
- Have completed the requirements for transfer to the College of Sciences
- Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or above
- Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or above
- Have a minimum grade of "C" in all social work prerequisites: Social Work 198, 200, 210, 298
- Have passed the writing proficiency exam
- Have successfully completed all of the following courses: English 110 and 111, History 104 and 105 or 114 and 115. Math 130 and above. Biology 104_107, American Government 200, Sociology 210, Psychology 210
