Professor Chenetra Hall Phillips

Chenetra Hall Phillips is an Adjunct Professor in the Political Science Department at Southern University and A&M College. She has been teaching for over 4 years within the department. Currently, she teaches classes in the introductory course of American Government. In addition, Professor Hall Phillips has over 18 graduate study hours in History and Criminal Justice. In 2010, she published a study, “Female Suicide Bombers” for her Master Thesis.

Professor Phillips's professional areas of interest are: International Relations, International Affairs, and American Government. Her research interest focuses on understanding the unique relationships between different countries and culture, and how they affect different aspects of societies from economics to law, security, and governance.

Besides teaching, she also owns Hall’s Paralegal Services, LLC, which focuses on contract assignments with attorneys on a contractual basis. Lastly, she loves to travel abroad. She feels traveling takes her out of her comfort zone and inspire her to see and try new things. Combining her love and passion of being a Political Scientist and traveling abroad is a central part of her education, giving her the opportunity to study different governments, the laws they produce, and one of the most amazing ways for her to know which values are most important in local cultures. This opens her mind about differences of other societies.
