About Us

Southern University and A&M College was designated an Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence (IC CAE) in September 2024 through a grant award by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI). The IC CAE at Southern is establishing courses and micro-credentials in Intelligence and National Security Studies, certificate programs in intelligence, national security, and cybersecurity for undergraduate and graduate students to compliment all major fields of study across the Southern University System.  In July 2025 the IC CAE at Southern will host it’s first Intelligence conference—NeXIS. Speakers and moderated panels will discuss pressing national security topics and workforce readiness, leveraging perspectives and expertise of local, state, and federal strategic partners.

The Intelligence Community Centers for Academic Excellence (IC CAE) Program was established in 2005 to meet the nation’s demand for a skilled cadre of professionals to carry out national security priorities. To learn more about the IC CAE, watch this video.
