California native to reign over SU Homecoming 2016

Corinne Vaughn, a senior majoring in political science from Stockton, California was officially crowned Miss Southern University and A&M College during a coronation Wednesday, October 19, 2016, in the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
SU associate dean receives volunteer activist award

Southern University’s own Doze Butler accepted a Baton Rouge Area Volunteer Activists (BRAVA) award November 4, 2016, at the Renaissance Hotel. Butler, is the associate dean of the College of Agricultural, Family and Consumer Sciences, a position she has held since 2013. Butler has worked at Southern Since 2001.
SU Homecoming Art Exhibition honors alum, former SUSLA art chairman

On display in the Visual Arts Gallery in Frank Hayden Hall at Southern University Baton Rouge is the 8th Annual Homecoming Art Exhibition. The exhibit features works from seven members of the Roosevelt Daniel Art Guild. The Guild is group of artists from Shreveport who studied with and is paying tribute to the late professor Roosevelt Daniel. Daniel was the founding chairman of the Fine Arts Program at Southern University Shreveport (SUSLA).

Johnson Endowed Professor in Business, was awarded a fellowship by the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program to travel to Tanzania to work with Anne G.
