Mandatory Research Security Training for Federal Proposal Submissions

In alignment with the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 (P.L. 117-167) and National Security Presidential Memorandum-33 (NSPM-33), NSF has established a series of requirements to strengthen transparency and accountability across NSF-funded projects as outlined in NSF Important Notice No. 149.  Each individual identified as a senior/key person must certify that they have completed the requisite research security training that meets the requirements specified in Item 2 of Important Notice No. 149 within 12 months prior to proposal submission.

The Office of Sponsored Programs requires all Southern University and A&M College senior/key personnel submitting proposals to NSF, NIH, USDA, DOD, and DOE to comply with the federal research security requirement.

To ensure compliance, please complete the following steps:

  1. Complete the Research Security Training at https://www.securecenter.uw.edu/CTM-1-1/story.html
  2. Download a certificate of completion.
  3. Send a copy of the certificate to the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) at OSP@subr.edu

*This training is mandatory for all senior/key personnel listed on proposal submissions to the above-mentioned federal agencies. Failure to comply will result in ineligibility for proposal submission.*
