Rasheedah Jenkins, Ph.D.

Rasheedah Jenkins is a Baton Rouge native and holds a Ph.D. in English (specialty: African American Literature) from Louisiana State University.  In her 10+ years of teaching, she previously served at her alma mater, Baton Rouge Community College, and Mississippi Valley State University. In August 2014, she returned home to serve as an Assistant Professor of English at Southern University and A&M College.  Her research and teaching interests include African American Literature, Folklore, and Popular Culture. Although passionate about teaching, in her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and quilting.
