Tutoring Staff

  • Faculty Tutors are volunteer instructors and professors who are familiar with Freshman Composition assignments.  As it is policy that Faculty avoid tutoring their own students, they provide an objective approach when conferencing with students in the Writing Den.
  • Peer Tutors are trained students who are advanced in their writing skills.  They are also familiar with Freshman Composition assignments, as they have taken SENL 101 & 102 and passed both classes with at least a grade of a B and maintain a GPA of 3.5 in their English classes.  Peer Tutors also come highly recommended by our very own English instructors and professors.  These types of tutors provide peer-to-peer interaction in the case that a student might feel more comfortable with discussing their work with another student.
