Welcome to the Southern University Faculty Senate.

As President of the Faculty Senate, I am honored to represent a body of dedicated scholars, educators, and professionals who are deeply committed to advancing the mission and values of our great University. The Faculty Senate serves as the collective voice of the faculty, working in partnership with the Administration and the Board of Supervisors to promote faculty welfare, shared governance, academic freedom, and professional growth.

Our mission is grounded in service and collaboration. We strive to ensure that faculty perspectives are included in the decision-making processes that shape our academic programs, institutional policies, and campus culture. Together, we seek to foster an environment where teaching, research, and community engagement thrive.

Beyond governance, the Faculty Senate proudly supports initiatives and activities that enrich the academic and cultural life of Southern University. Through advocacy, innovation, and dialogue, we aim to strengthen our University’s legacy of excellence and prepare it for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
