Speech and Theater Program

Training in the theater arts can lead to careers in a diversity of fields, including acting, law, event planning, arts entrepreneurship, event production and management, government, fashion, stage and lighting design, management, sales, television and radio, teaching, and any field involving strong presence, interpersonal connections, and communication skills.
The Frank Hayden Fine Arts Hall houses a 300-seat theater complex, recently renovated in 2025 with an updated lighting system and undergoing ongoign renovations through a $529,000.00 Board of Regents grant. The program produces and hosts 6-8 student and facutly lead shows, showcases, and performance events each semester.
Courses cover acting, physical theater, performance composition, and stagecraft, and offer students a wide range of approaches to performance and backstage work. Students encounter techniques for developing stage presence, creative collaboration, and performance production. Come join us!
