She holds a PhD from LSU in Communication Studies with a focus in Performance Studies, a Master's Degree in English Literature from Western Kentucky University, and an undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on communication pedagogy, Image Theater, and collaborative devising. |

Douglas Scott Streater, MFA Theatre Instructor Speech and Theater Program Office: Hayden Hall Room 9 (225) 771-2665 Douglas Scott Streater is an actor, director, and teacher whose work centers on ensemble storytelling, deep character work, and creating safe, courageous spaces for artistic growth. Douglas earned his MFA in Acting from LSU (2021–2023)and joined SUBR in Fall 2023. His pedagogy draws from The Seven Pillars acting system and the Moment Work approach, focused on helping students build self-awareness, confidence, and expressive clarity.

He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication studies and has been teaching speech in higher education since 2017. He has a background in corporate training, facilitation, and performance. Malcolm is passionate about creating engaging learning experiences in speech and performance. |

He brings his love of all things Stagecraft and Live Events in an effort to share his knowledge with students who may utilize this experience to further their own careers. |
