Into the Woods - April 16-19

As part of the Spring Student Director Spotlight, SU Theater proudly engages with MTI to present Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods, co-directed by student director Brianna Fields and Professor Malcolm Evans. This production showcases student leadership and artistic vision while bringing Sondheim’s beloved, thought‑provoking musical to life through imaginative storytelling and collaborative performance.

 

 

SEEDS YOU SOW SHOWCASE - March 26

“The Seeds You Sow” is a student-led interdisciplinary showcase that blends agricultural science, environmental storytelling, performance art, and sociology. The event highlights the connections between land, culture, and community. Through mixed media the showcase transforms academic research and identity into an accessible artistic experience that invites audiences to learn, reflect, and engage. Led by Chasity Joseph, collaboratively produced by the Theater, Dance, Music, Art, and Agriculture programs.

VOYAGE ON THE HAYDEN - Feb 26

Come aboard the SS Hayden and journey through time and space to learn the history and impact of Southern University on a local and national stage. As an immersive installation with live performance, Voyage on the Hayden uses intergenerational storytelling to explore the connection between memory, identity, and legacy. Come and experience the stories of Southern's rich history and legacy.
