Continuing Education Mission

Mission

The Southern University Division of Continuing Education is an academic and outreach unit that is responsible for providing services that meet the needs of the traditional and nontraditional population and residents of the local community. Through Continuing Education students are allowed to work towards certification for job advancement within the state. The Non-Credit component of Continuing Education provides a vehicle for persons in the community to pursue their lifelong learning goals through targeted programs, seminars and workshops. These programs are enhanced by a rich array of support services. It is therefore the ultimate purpose of the division to extend educational opportunities through a variety of learning option, to individuals, groups and agencies in tradition and non-traditional program formats.
