About Us

The Center for International Education (CIE) is the official unit of the Baton Rouge campus of the Southern University System responsible for infusing international perspectives throughout the undergraduate and graduate curricula. The CIE has been responsible for institutional partnerships in Africa, Belize, China and Mexico. The CIE has also hosted programs in Italy and Brazil for the School of Architecture. These partnerships offer you a range of locations to acquire your international education.

Each partner institution offers its own vision, language and cultural characteristics. Staff members in our unit will assist you in finding the right choice to fit your personal and career goals.

Our faculty-led programs include home stays and are open to all registered students regardless of academic major.

Campus Resource Center

The Center for International Education (CIE) serves as a resource center for all campus units that sponsor international or ethnic programs. Campus personnel utilize the CIE staff to train faculty and students who go abroad independently. The Center also provides contacts and materials for displays and other cultural information needed for international campus events.
