Mission and Objectives
The Department of Rehabilitation, Disability Studies, and Counseling seek to become the leading program in Rehabilitation Services that produces culturally sensitive, socially aware, compassionate, and effective rehabilitation professionals who make meaningful contributions to the rehabilitation field and the lives of people with disabilities. The mission will be achieved through the following objectives:
- To assist students in developing the skills, knowledge, and competencies required to provide quality services to individuals with disabilities in various human service fields.
- To prepare students to become effective advocates for individuals with disabilities.
- To prepare students to enter graduate programs in clinical rehabilitation counseling and other human service fields.
