Spring 2026 Chief Student Marshal

Calli Schell
Calli Schell, a biology major from Kirkland, Illinois, has been named Southern University and A&M College’s Spring 2026 Chief Student Marshal after earning a perfect 4.0 GPA. A first-generation college student, she was inspired by her mother’s work in health care to pursue medicine. At Southern, Schell balanced academics and softball while participating in multiple organizations, conducting breast cancer research and gaining experience through internships with Meharry Medical College, Novartis and Ochsner.
During her time on campus, Schell helped lead the softball team to a historic SWAC Tournament Championship appearance and a program-record 37-win season. She credits her faith, family and mentors for her success. Following graduation, she plans to continue her research, gain clinical experience and attend medical school to become an emergency medicine physician serving underserved communities.
