Due to the extensive flooding and restoration work, beginning Wednesday, January 24, library services will be offered on the 1st floor in the John B. Cade Library Student Center (Snack Lounge/Coffee Shop).

Southern University's Dean of Libraries Dr. Emma Bradford Perry was featured in the April 2013 LSU Faculty Senate Monthly Newsletter for her leadership role with the John B. Cade Library and Architecture Library.

The daughter of educators, born in Baton Rouge, Dawn has spent most of her adult life working to improve the lives of youths in her community and beyond. Her passion is to see others become their best selves, and she believes education, is a vehicle to success. Her journey includes receiving a BS degree in Computer Science, masters in Library and Information Science, and a PhD in Science and Mathematics Education, where her dissertation research focused on information literacy in STEM higher education

Two Southern University students enjoy a game of chess in the John B. Cade library as they take a break from their studies. The chess area, named chess corner, is located on the second floor of the library across from the computer lab.

Other Black History Month events at the library include movie screenings and quiz.
