Cade Library held a tribute to fallen students Smith, Brown (News)
Southern University commemorated the 40th anniversary of the fatal shootings of SU students Denver Smith and Leonard Brown on the Baton Rouge campus. The event was held Friday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m., in the John B. Cade Library.

The Southern University John B. Cade Library began its Founders’ Day Exhibit highlighting the late “Dean Martin L. Harvey and the History of Vespers Services at Southern University.” Founders’ Day was observed on March 7.

The Southern University John B. Cade Library invites the community to check out a collection of original slave literature entitled, Opinions Regarding Slavery: Slave Narratives. 1822-1865. The collection is an original manuscript created by former professor and dean John B. Cade Sr., who the Southern University Library is named after.
