Inspiring Future Engineers Through Hands-On Outreach

On February 17, 2025, the CERL research team visited Westdale Middle School to introduce students to the exciting world of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). As part of this outreach initiative, the team led engaging presentations and interactive demonstrations to spark curiosity and interest in STEM fields.

During the visit, Westdale middle school students participated in a hands-on workshop where they learned about the impact of ECE in various industries. Guided by the project’s Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Principal Investigators (Co-PIs), the students received introductory lectures and gained practical experience by implementing simple engineering projects—laying the foundation for future exploration in electronics, robotics, and computing.

The photos below highlight this impactful visit, showcasing our ongoing efforts to inspire young minds and promote early exposure to engineering education.
