The Tutoring Center at Southern University plays a critical role in supporting academic success, promoting persistence, and helping students achieve their full potential. By providing both in-person tutoring and 24/7 online tutoring, the center ensures that all students—regardless of schedule or learning style—have access to the academic help they need. Certified Tutors

All tutors in the Center for Student Success Tutoring Center are certified through Knack, a nationally recognized peer tutoring and academic support platform. This certification ensures that each tutor has completed comprehensive training focused on effective tutoring practices, communication skills, and student engagement strategies. Through Knack, tutors are equipped with the tools and techniques necessary to provide high-quality academic support that meets national standards of excellence.

The training emphasizes active learning, cultural competence, growth mindset coaching, and ethical tutoring practices, ensuring that tutors are not only knowledgeable in their subject areas but also skilled in helping students become independent and confident learners.
