Doctor of Nursing Practice

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program was established in 2012 and is a practice-focused doctoral program designed to prepare advanced practice nurses for leadership roles in complex healthcare environments. The program prepares graduates with the skills necessary to translate research into practice, critically evaluate emerging evidence, apply research to clinical decision-making, and implement innovative solutions that improve nursing practice and patient outcomes.

The DNP Program is specifically designed for nurses seeking careers in advanced clinical practice and executive-level leadership, including roles at the nurse executive and health system leadership level, where evidence-based practice and organizational change are essential.

The Doctor of Nursing Practice program in nursing at Southern University A&M College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791.
