Who has to take the WPE?

A student DOES NOT have to register for English 1 (WPE):

  1. He or she has passed English 111 at SUBR during and since Fall 2010.
  2. He or she is currently taking English 111 at SUBR.
  3. He or she has passed English 101 at BRCC, English 102 at Southeastern Louisiana University, or English 102 at Delgado Community College.
  4. He or she has articulated a WPE test equivalent from any other institution.
  5. Students who passed English 111 under the SUSLA CONNECT banner on SUBR’s campus Fall 2013 do not need to take the English 1.

A student DOES have to register for English 1 (WPE):

  1. He or she passed English 111 before Fall 2010.
  2. He or she has transferred to SUBR and has not articulated an equivalent to the WPE test itself.

Note: Even though an equivalent for SUBR’s English 111 has been accepted by SUBR, the students must show proof and must have articulated an equivalent to the WPE test itself.

Note: SUBR’s English Department does not have any information from any institution other than BRCC. Therefore, the student would need to provide the information via a course description and complete the articulation process.
