Virtual Additive Manufacturing Workshop by Southern University

Additive manufacturing (AM), also commonly known as 3D Printing, is a key component of the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0). While mass adoption of AM by the industry is still a future, many businesses have started utilizing AM in their production system. As a part of professional development initiatives, Southern University at Baton Rouge is hosting this workshop to facilitate workforce training for the AM industry.

This entirely virtual workshop will use the Zoom platform and require full-day participation. The workshop will start with an introduction to AM; hence anyone new to the field is encouraged to join. The focus will be on all seven categories of AM with their backgrounds, workflows, brief process physics, and commonly used materials. Participants will also learn different applications, where and how AM can be utilized.

While this workshop is open to anyone, senior undergraduate students, graduate students, and new professionals are strongly encouraged to participate. Although participation is FREE, prior registration is REQUIRED because the spots are limited. Please submit this form to register for the workshop. More instructions to join will be communicated before the workshop.

The flyer of the workshop was circulated among the LAMDA network. The workshop was also promoted by America Makes event page. Please press HERE for the URL of the workshop.
