David Anderson

Mr. Anderson is married to his childhood sweetheart, Barbara Simmons Anderson. He has two children (David Matthew and Porschia) and one grandson Jacob.  He graduated from J.S. Clark High School in Opelousas, Louisiana.  He attend Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics.

After Graduation from college, Mr. Anderson went to work for Sperry-Univac and later the Honeywell Corporation in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He moved to Texas and went to work for Texas Instruments in Dallas, Texas.  He spent 20 years at Texas Instruments as the manager for the Worldwide Order Fulfillment Systems. 

The systems he managed were deployed in the United States, Europe, Japan, and the Asia Pacific Regions.  He later joined the Raytheon Company where he spent 19 years as the Engineering Department Manager of the Network Centric Software Technology Solutions Group developing Smart Weapons Systems for the Military.  He retired from Raytheon in 2013 after a long and distinguish career. He is featured in a number of engineering magazines for his contributions to the Software Engineering profession and to Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

 

He is a member of the Southern University College of Business Advisory Council and the College of Business Committee of 150.  He is a member of the Southern University Computer Science Advisory Board. He is a Substitute Teacher for the Wylie, Texas Independent School District.
