Three Southern University Baton Rouge (SUBR) students Arnedia Wallace, Andre Spears, and Luke Williams won honors for presentations at the 73rd Joint Annual Meeting of Beta Kappa Chi Scientific Honors Society and the National Institute of Science, April 6-9, 2016, in Hampton, Virginia.

The families of Southern University Baton Rouge students Lashuntae Benton and Annette January, who died Sunday, April 10, 2016, in an incident off campus, have announced memorial arrangements for Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16.

Southern University and A&M College student scholars Kristofer McKinney and Michael Agbor made presentations at the Southern Regional Honors Council (SRHC) conference in Orlando, Florida, March 31 through April 2, 2016. The theme for the conference was “The Magic of Honors.”

John Warner Smith, an adjunct professor in the Southern University Baton Rouge (SUBR) Department of English, will release his second book-length collection of poetry, Soul Be A Witness: Songs to Boys of Color.
