Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies
Program Information
The purpose of the Interdisciplinary Studies Program is to engage students in an academic journey that is best suited for the student. The program provides a flexible and student-centered educational experience that allows individuals to purse a course of study that is best aligned with their interests, goals and aspirations. We welcome students from all spectrums of life regardless of age, experience or prior educational journey. The program is committed to fostering academic growth, personal development and student success.
The Interdisciplinary Studies degree program is housed within the College of Humanities and Interdisciplinary Studies, and located in Stewart Hall #117. This degree will enable students to develop competencies across multiple disciplines allowing them to tailor their academic experience to support a variety of career pathways and professional goals. The program is offered both on-campus and online to provide flexibility to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Students earning a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies have the option of pursuing two curriculum plans. They may pursue the Individualized Concentration Option or the newly developed Flex option. Please see the two options provided below.

For the Individualized Concentration option the student must complete: 63 hours of general education requirements 43 general courses 11 hours of program requirements 9 semester credit hours of electives 57 hours of pre-set concentrations The program consists of a total of 120 credit hours. For the Flex Pathway Concentration option the student must complete: 75 hours of general education requirements 42 general courses 5 hours of program requirements 28 prerequisties/electives 45 hours of 300/400 level courses 6 hours of program requirements The program consists of a total of 120 credit hours Flex Pathway |
