Tutoring Services
The Center for Student Success Learning Centers offer free and friendly academic tutoring to Southern University students seeking to improve or maintain their knowledge base in freshman, sophomore, and some junior and senior level courses. Our centers offer brand new computers, plenty of study space and tutors whom pride themselves on being friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced. Come by for help in being a successful student.
Tutoring is a support service to ensure understanding of course material when students have gone to class. Tutoring is designed to reinforce information to students, not teach new information.

Southern University Center for Student Success
Southern University created the Center for Student Success (CSS) in 2002, in order to better support the successful transition of students into and through their matriculation with specialized attention placed on their first-year of studies.
The CSS and the initiatives that come out of it are changing success outcomes well beyond the first year for students. On this page, you can learn about our activities and how to participate in the many options for successfully supporting the student population such as Academic Coaching, Academic Empowerment, Supplemental Instruction, and Tutoring.
Retaining students into the second year is the crucial step in setting them on a path towards on-time graduation. At Southern University, the Center for Student Success is committed to helping students pursue and accomplish their dreams.
